Family of John Dunivan

John Dunivan (originally Donovan/possibly Doniphan)
b. December 3, 1793, Culpepper, Mason County, Virginia (same shown in IGI)
m. December 1814 to Frances (Francis) Hughes, Mason County, Virginia
d. December 5, 1834, Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana
buried in Hughes Cemetery, Perrysville.
From 1814-1815 he was a private in the Virginia Militia under Captain Michael See.
John & Frances moved their family from Virginia to Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana, in 1832.
Fought in the War of 1812. Afterwards a farmer.

Frances Hughes
b. March 20, 1797, Culpepper, Mason County, Virginia
d. March 29, 1858, Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana
buried in Hughes Cemetery, Perrysville
Her people were from English stock and were early residents of Pennsylvania. Her grandfather served in the Revolutionary War and was shot through the breast. He recovered and lived to be nearly 100 years old and drew a pension from the government. He traced his ancestry to Ireland. His ancestors were mostly linen weavers by trade.

m. May 29, 1844, to Elizabeth Beauchamp
d. April 9, 1907, Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois

2.     Lucinda Dunivan
b. October 28, 1822, Culpepper, Mason County, Virginia
m. December 24, 1840, in Perrysville, Indiana,to Jabez Rodgers
d. June 10, 1891, Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana
Both buried in Niccum Cemetery, Danville, Illinois.
They had seven children.

3.     Barbara Dunivan
b. December 10, 1825, Culpepper, Mason County, Virginia
m. March 24, 1844, in Perrysville, Indiana, to James Harvey Adams
d. May 3, 1904, Perrysville, Indiana
.
They had five children.
Both are buried in Hughes Cemetery, Perrsville, Indiana.

5.     Margaret Dunivan
b. August 10, 1830, Culpepper, Mason County, Virginia
m. October 14, 1847, to James Lloyd Howard
d. December 18, 1894, Georgetown, Illinois
Both buried at Niccum Cemetery, Danville, Illinois.
They had six children.

6.     Charles Dunivan
b. March 31, 1832, near Richmond, Virginia
m. September 22, 1859, to Mary Ann Eaton
d. April 29, 1891, buried Niccum Cemetery, Danville, Illinois
They had nine children.

m. August 3, 1854, to Bathseba Ogden
Both buried in McKendree Cemetery, Georgetown, Illinois.
They had six children.
