Deed Record Transcription This Indenture made and entered into this the 2nd day of March 1840 Between Nancy Hodge of the One part, and James A. Ramer of the other part both of the County of Livingston and State of Kentucky Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Nancy Hodge hath this bargain sold and conveyed and by those presents doth bargain sell and convey unto the said James Ramer his heirs and assignees forever a certain piece or parcel of land situate Lying and being in the County and State of aforesaid and on Clay lick Creek & Bounded as follows towit. Beginning on a gum & white Oak David Browns Corner Running thence N 49° E 10 poles to a poplar & white Oak, Amen to Washington Stewart, thence S 21 E 54 poles to a Dogwood thence S 54 W 58 poles to a White Oak, Walnut & Dogwood N 81° w 86 poles to two Sugartrees and ham beam bank of Clay lick thence up the creek with its meandars N 20 E 126 poles to a stake in D. Browns line, thence with said line S 43° E 66 poles to the Beginning Containing seventy acres be the same more or less To Have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises to the said James A. Ramer his heirs and assignees forever the right and title to said land the said Nancy Hodge doth by these presents forever warrant and defend from the claim or claims of herself her heirs/es, and from the claim or claims from and every person or persons whomsoever claiming under her. In Testimony whereof the said Nancy Hodge hath hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year aforesaid in presents of us /s/ Nancy Hodge (her seal)
James Duvall State of Kentucky I James S. Dallam clerk of the court for the County & State aforesaid do hereby Certify that the foregoing Deed of conveyance from Nancy Hodge unto James A. Ramer was on this day produced to use in my office and proven by the oaths of James Duvall & H.R.D. Coleman Subscribing witnesses thereto as and for the act and deed hand & seal of the the said Grantor Nancy Hodge for the purposes therein Contained: and I have truly Recorded the same
