Niccum
Cemetery
Danville, Illinois

This sign is no longer at the cemetery entrance,
having
succumbed to the elements over time.
Niccum Cemetery is in McKendree Township. From Danville, Illinois,
go east on Main Street to Buchanan Street. Turn south on Buchanan Street
and continue until it turns into Perrysville Road. Continue on Perrysville
Road
to South Long Road, about 9/10ths of a mile south of Union Corner Church.
Keep going south to County Road 1250 N and turn right. Follow the one lane
road
to the cemetery, which is located in the middle of a large corn field.
The land for the cemetery originally
belonged to Anderson and Elizabeth Dunivan.
They deeded the land for the purpose of a cemetery on April 23, 1892.
Below are photos of graves of close
family members.
