deed records
involving Thomas Hodge/s in North Carolina.
I am indebted to Marty Hodge for
providing this information.
Sep 12 1774, Halifax Co. NC WB1, page 374: Benjamin Merryman
(probate), daughter Frances Merrimon/Merryman manner plantation where I live and
all lands except 100 acres where Thomas Hodges now lives and the sd 100 acres to
go to sd Hodges and he to pay 40 pounds to Benjamin Merryman. Residue of estate
divided betw wf Margaret Merryman and dau Frances when wf marries or dies or dau
comes of age whichever is first. exr Thomas Daniel. wit Spencer Watts, Griffin
(x) Morris/Norris(?).
November 26 1776, Edgecombe County NC Deed Book 3, page 911-(144) Isaac Beacham
& Susanna (x) Beaucham of Edgecombe County to Thomas Hodges of same. 413 pounds
proclamation, 600 acres on the south side of Fishing Creek, joining Crooked

June 24, 1777, Pitt County, North Carolina, Deed Records Book F, Page t504,
Winifred Wilson to Thomas Hodges, 272 acres, 55 pounds. Butted and Bounded on
the south by the main road, on the west by the Iron Mind, and North by the
courses of said patton as reference is had thereunto and on the east by Simon
Taylors line. Wit: Moses Hodges.
July 26, 1777, Pitt County, North Carolina, Deed Records, Book F, Page 319,
Thomas Hodges and Sarah, wife to Luke Mounts, ship carpenter, 11 acres, 60
pounds. ES Tranters Creek, B. & running up with the meanders of Tranter's Creek
up to the mouth of a spring near Jon. Knowie salt ____ called & known by the
name of Pink Spring, thence from a _____ wood at the head of sd. Spring ____
Philip Hollands corner with said line to head of a branch in the Division
Between said Hodges and Holland, thence with ? sd. Branch down into the Beaver
dam thence along the water courses of sd. Beaver dam to mouth & place of
