d. October 9, 1866, buried Blackfoot Cemetery, Pike County, Indiana (age 41
years, 2 months, 14 days) of cholera. A family had died of cholera in the
community where they lived. He was one of the ones who were chosen to go
in and clean the house out. He contracted
cholera and died shortly afterward. The
family was already packed for a move to Texas. Mary decided to go on to
Texas, travelling with other family. (according to Lucy Mason Hodge)

1900 census lists her as Mary A. Cox, age 67, divorced, father and mother
both born in Indiana.

According to Nita B. Mason, death was from pneumonia.
