a genealogical work in progress My search for roots began in 1968 when a class assignment became a lifelong hobby. The two pages of vital statistics provided by my grandmothers for that assignment have multiplied into 16 notebooks, 2 filing cabinets, several shelves of books, numerous disk files, and boxes of notes. In the beginning, I elected to trace all eight of my great-grandparents, an ambitious undertaking for a new historian. Thirty-four years later, I have had success in each of these 8 lines and have branched into 16 additional lines of research. My ancestors are no longer statistics, but real people who deserve to be remembered. Please stop in and hear their stories…
